Disability Rights in ASEAN
Australia is increasing its human rights engagement with ASEAN through its ‘Disability Rights in ASEAN’ (DRiA) project.
DRiA supports the development and implementation of the ASEAN Enabling Masterplan 2025: Mainstreaming the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by providing technical assistance to ASEAN bodies and organisations representing people with disabilities. This has included enhancing collaboration with two regional disability networks – the General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) and ASEAN Disability Forum.
Both of these regional networks have their Secretariats based in Jakarta and their members include the Indonesia Disabled People’s Association and Indonesia Association of Women with Disabilities.
