The Australian Consortium for In-Country Indonesian Studies (ACICIS)
The Australian Consortium for In-Country Indonesian Studies (ACICIS), which was established in 1994, is a non-profit international educational consortium that includes 23 Australian universities. This consortium is the primary mechanism through which Australian tertiary students pursue study for academic credit in Indonesian universities. ACICIS provides opportunities for Australian students to study abroad in a safe, secure and supportive environment.
ACICIS currently partners with 10 Indonesian universities to offer various programs in a wide range of disciplines including development studies, business and commerce, journalism, international relations, creative arts and design as well as agriculture. ACICIS has pioneered enhancing people-to-people links between Australia and Indonesia.
Since its establishment, more than 3,000 Australian students have undertaken in-country study programs in Indonesia through ACICIS. ACICIS alumni now hold significant positions in government, business and academia.
